Real Madrid President Florentino is reportedly considering hijacking Barcelona’s deal to get the signature of Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
The Parisian has been a target for top European sides since the last season. Earlier, Spanish news outlet Don Balon has reported that the French international has refused to sign a new contract with the Ligue 1 giants.
Rabiot has been great in the middle of the park for the Ligue 1 Champions and has attracted a lot of attention from top clubs. Barcelona has been linked with the midfielder to strengthen the already star-studded squad.
However, Real Madrid is reportedly ready to hijack the deal from their arch-rivals Barcelona. With Mateo Kovacic leaving for Chelsea on loan and Modric not getting any younger, Los Blancos considers Rabiot as long time solution in the middle of the park.
Diario Gol has previously linked Real Madrid with the midfielder for a transfer costing €70m for Spanish giants, which can be a fair price for a player of Rabiot’s caliber. With Real Madrid having few more days before the window closes in Spain, a transfer is still on the cards for the Frenchman.
